Dr. Kahn is an economist specializing in
communications, technology and energy industry analysis. His primary
research interests are in the
application of microeconomic principles to
economic, regulatory and
management strategies and solutions. Most
recently Dr. Kahn has focused on matters regarding the regulation of
firms operating simultaneously in competitive and monopoly markets.
Specific issues addressed have included unbundling, costing
procedures, industry restructuring including merger analysis,
measures of market competition, and alternative regulatory
frameworks. In these and other matters, Dr. Kahn has been retained
by private and public clients in the U.S., Canada and Asia,
including state and city attorneys, consumer advocates, law firms,
CLECs and regulators.
Dr. Kahn has provided expert economic
testimony in the U.S. and Canada, and before committees of federal
and state legislatures. He has a B.A. from Ohio Northern University
and a PH.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis,
Missouri.
